Default help!! stuck axel!

so my tranny took a dump on me 2 days ago, so i am in the process of replacing it. it is a d16a6 tranny. i decided it was time to replace everything else that goes along with the tranny such as axels and clutch. so the old tranny is out, flywheel has been resurfaced and put back on, and the clutch is on. heres the problem: the driver-side axel is stuck in the wheel hub assembly (i think thats what it is called). i have replaced several sets of axels before, and they were nothing like this. i have been beating on it and trying to pry it out. any help would be great!

well 2nd gear went out and after that it felt like the rest of the tranny was about to explode. now im sporting a new tranny, and a South Bend clutch.

BIG *** hammer would not hurt either.

Next time make sure you get some Anti-seize. I have a habit of using that stuff on all my bolts. Old car = rust = PITA
