u can do the h22. place racing sells the mounts, but I heard they dont fit correctly and need some serious fabrication. as far as other engines, you can get the jdm b20a, wich is a direct replacement, 135hp, dohc, bolts right in with your stock mounts. Or you can swap in a usdm b20a5, also a direct bolt in. Im assuming you have the b21a1 oil burner of an enigne. If so, ditch that asap. any questions, feel free to ask.

If you got a couple g's, the h22a would be cool. If you don't, or if you want power JDM b20a + turbo is also cool.

Hmm....

This JDM b20a you speak of - this is different from the b20a5 I have in my '88 'lude right now, correct?

I had better look into this as this is not the first time I've been pointed in this direction.

I tended to notice that often times on prelude boards someone would be all excited about doing the H22a swap and talk about their progress all the time, then within 6 months or so of completion they would be trying to sell it. IMO, it is too much money and work to be worth it.

I would also recomend a JDM B20a. You have to accept the 3rd gen for what it is, an OLD car with limited swap options. Regardless though, I always enjoyed my 3rd gen and I had a hard time letting go of it recently. If it had been different circumstances, I would still own it.

It's basically the Japanese motor of the b20a5. It has a lil more power (nothing you'll notice), but it does have low miles, and can be found for pretty cheap.

A lot of times you can do a JDM b20a swap and turbo for under $3k... which is what I am doing.

Despite how 'crappy' our motors are... they respond surprisingly well to boost, and they love nitrous... the N/A mods are pretty crappy - you may be able to get 130-140whp with a lot of bolt ons... it's pretty weak. If you want power on these motors, nitrous or turbo is the way to go.

I was recently inquiring doing a motor swap on my 89' accord, so i decided to contact my local performance shops about what would be the best swap. The only info they could give me, is that a B16A2 Si motor would fit in my car.. So from there i went onto the internet at OsakaJdmMotors.com, to check up on the pricing of motors, then i got to talking to the tech about putting the B16A2 into my car, he stated that if i was to do that, it would end up costing me around 4k$ after the cost of the motor, for fabrication work, then he informed me of putting a B20A in my car would be the best route to go. Other then that, buying a new car would be the other option. If i were to go out and buy a "newer" car, it would have to be a 94' Civic DX HB then follow through with the H22A1 swap.. The only problem with doing that is, that everyone in there parents and distant cousins have civics nowadays... So im gonna stick with being original, and try out that B20A swap, its not an everyday thing to see a 3rd Gen accord fixed up, Before i take that big step in doing so, i was gonna get some facts/info about the motor itself, which is what caused me to find myself on this thread/forum..

If i were to do the B20A Swap, would there be a large selection of aftermarket performance parts available for it, and how hard would it be to find them, along with how pricey. Someone at another site, was telling me that the B20A is a hard motor to come by, so the first thing that came to me was, if the motor is hard to find, maybe the parts for it are gonna be even harder.
Another thing i was trying to figure out.. is what model/year of honda does the B20A come out of?

Currently my car is struggling with 193hp @ the wheels, with every aftermarket performance part available for the stock motor, which are the usual:
Pacesetter Headers
AEM Cold Air Intake
AEM Cam Gears
Ractive Coil-Overs
Eagle Performance Cam
Alternative Motorsports Custom Fiberglass Hood
HP Racing Custom Exhaust Piping 2 1/4"
Apex-i Muffler
MSD 6A Ignition
Blaster 3 Coil
Magnecore Wires
RC Racing Injectors 270cc
HP Racing Big Bore Throttle Body

To start with (112hp) then after all those mods that were available for the weak stock motor, it only boosted it upto 193hp. Thats the main reason im seeking a motor swap, and so i can slap some boost on the wheels.

yeah if i had an 89 accord with 193 whp id be absolutely ecstatic.

i secondly declare bullshit on the 81 bolt-on hp claim.

that's a ballsy first post to make.
