Default flame when shifting at high RPM

My setup is an h22a, gude cams, AEM CAI, dc sports header, test pipe, apex dunk megaphone catback, AEM pullys(stock crank), disabled egr. When i shift at redline it makes a kinda hicup noise and from what im told by the people behind me is that it shoots out a flame. Is this normal or ok?

I dont think its ok for a flame to shoot out, sounds like it might be a backfire?

would it be caused from running rich? Would a VAFC fix that?

retarded timing is crap for performance...it can cause larger amounts of unburned fuel...is that what you are doing?

that right there is enough to need fuel adjustment. i suggest hondat to fix timing and fuel issues. if you have cam gears that will help also. make sure you get it tuned on a dyno. it will be night and day difference

i just know that its shooting flames...i bought the car and it came that way. I guess it may be retarded timing...ill see if i cant get a timing light and and fix it. Im thinking about getting a VAFC that'll help too right. i dont know if there is anyone around here who does hondata but i can look. How do you adjust timing

its not a constant flame...its only when i shift at redline, its like a split second flame.
