sometimes when im either starting up my car... or whether its running but im at a stop sign... i hear like a weird sound... like.. a deep buzzing sound... it happens once in a while. and the sound lasts probably for like 2-3 seconds.

i went to a shop to have my ecu read. and they told me that my celloid(i cant remember the specific name of the part, but it sounds like that.), needs to be replaced....

my question is... what does that do? and what should i do? get it replaced or just buy a new tranny?

Do you know what code he pulled up? Check out http://www.c-speedracing.com and it will tell you how to pull your own codes very easily. Do that and tell us what number comes up.

Do you have an automatic or manual transmission?

Your "celloid" is probably a solenoid, right? There are many all over the car.

 

that'll screw up ur engine if you dont get that fixed....seriosuly...you should either get a new tranny, or fix the problem...

What the hell are you talking about?! Like shamoo said, there isn't enough info provided to really give any advice.

 

I think its you ABS pump it make a buzzing noise ever once and a while...

yea, my abs pump makes a very annoying buzzing sound at startup all the time.
buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuzz for like 5 seconds...
and yea at stop signs and lights also.. maybe 1nce or twice a day or not at all or sometimes 5 times a day. it's just the abs getting old, and the sound is the pump getting ready.

but hey if your throwen codes.. find out what code/codes, and write back.

 

hmm.. i'll have to get the codes pulled back up. i'll ask my friend to take a look.

but the ABS.. well, ive got a 96.. so yeah, it's kinda old..

 

my car makes that noise at startup too... i never knew what it was, hmm i guess its the ABS

 

but the ABS light doesnt come on...
