glass pack guys.. any 'tip' suggestions ?
ok.. finally got my exhaust done..
being more worried about air flow than sound, my setup is :
4:2:1 header
hi flow cat
2" pipe
glass pack
2" pipe out the back..
it's starting to break in and not sound 'quite' as obnoxious, but is anyone running a similar setup with some kind of tip that helps quiet it down without adding too much backpressure ?
please no flames for the glass pack.. i'm not going for 'peoples choice' here..
thanks
chris

Hey I just cut off my UltraFlow SS Muffler from my CRX I am selling it if you want.
Nothing wrong with the glasspack, I had the Cherry Bomb right after the cat and the car was so quiet with the UltraFlow. But I had 2 1/4" exhaust, that was the only difference from your setup.
Let me know.

The glass pack give it such a 'shrill' sound.. but if it were deeper, it would make a really nice throaty sound..
do i fix that by putting some kind of 'tip' hi-flow muffler on the end of my pipe ?

my set up: header, test pipe (2.5), cherry bomb, supertrapp...tip of muffler stops before the rear axles...
*it's load and throaty...but power is considerably less when I put my stock exhaust back (greddy sp).

I never understood SuperTrapp muffler tips. Just makes no sense to me putting pressure in the exhaust system.
Glasspack + muffler = sleeper

i guess my question is, what kind of tip, or tip muffler can i add to the end of my exhaust setup to bring the tone down from 'high pitched abnoxious' to 'deeper and throaty'..
setup: 4.2.1 header, hi-flow cat (not sure what brand), 2" pipe, glasspack(not sure what brand) then 2" open pipe out the back..
i'm not a 'big' fan of the 'fart can' sound when you throw a tip muffler on the end of a stock exhaust, but with the header and hi-flow stuff, it's not the same..
i dont suppose anyone has any decent sound files of any glasspack + tip examples ?

i'll measure that tomorrow and let you know..
if i had to guess, it's around 9 or 10 inches long, and around 4" thick.. the pipe diameter (inside) i think is right aorund 2"
glasspack is in the location where the muffler usually goes.. so i can put a tip on it no problem..

I have the Cherry bomb turbo II, and I have the pipe coming out the back without a tip. I painted it black.. Heres a pic. It keeps the cops away.

and oh yea get a tip from an chrysler exhaust the one that is wide and fits perfectly in the cut-out on the bumper its wide and sho looks purdy

well, when i say 'tip' i'm talking about a 'tip' muffler..
right now my glasspack 'is' my muffler, if you think about it in the twisted way i do.. LOL
i like the throaty sound, but it's too high pitched..
is there a 'tip' muffler i can put on the end of my setup to turn the high lawnmower sound down to a low rumble sound. ?

when you say 'in the back' , where do you mean ?
before the axle ? or on the tip ?
when i had the glasspack put on, i told them to just replace the OEM muffler with it, so it's in the length that goes parrallel to the rear axle..
