Default skunk 2 stage 2 cams in a stock gsr

i was wondering if i can use skunk 2 stage 2 cams in a stock gsr motor without any worries of the motor boging or losing power? would the stock gsr motor be to little of compression to run stage 2s? i had them in my other motor but the motor blew and just wondering if i can slap it in a stock geezer for now without losing power... thanks...ive only really had a 1400 miles driven on those cams... so i dont want to sell them still practically brand new.

You can put them in, but they will be rough on your valvetrain. Keep revs below 8k. I had a friend that had them on his B16A2 for about a year before he did a valvetrain upgrade. The risk is actually entirely up to you... but in most cases you should be OK.

I ran S2S3s on my stock GSR for about 6 months with no problems, I did have Skunk2 valvetrain though. One thing I would definitely recommend is having an ECU with really really high VTEC x-over, I had a modified P28 with VTEC @ 6000 and it felt fine. In 3 weeks I will really be able to use those cams though when my block is finished, 13.5:1 cr is very good.

Do it - you'll still make more power then stock... Ideally you'll want to run higher CR, but those cams are almost the same as the Jun3's and the Jun's make crazy power on stock GSR's...
