Crower 403's or 404's ?
Im deciding on what crower cams to use on my LS all-motor set-up.
set-up so far:
P&P LS head, milled to have 10.3 comp.
crower valve springs and retainers
skunk2 i/m, hondata i/m gasket
STR fuel rail
B&M fuel pressure reg. and guage
Apexi SAFC
skunk2 cam gears
DC jdm 4-1 header
CTR n1 crank pulley
all oem gaskets (minus the i/m gasket)
stock b18a bottom end
Im trying to figure out wether the 403 or the 404 cams will make the most gains. Im not sure the proper comp. ratio to run the 404's. Having a stock bottom end is fine to run with the 404's ?
any help would be great. and yes i have searched! thanks

404's make more power, but in higher revs than the 403s. Yes you would benefit from the 404s. Yes your bottom end is fine with 404s assumming you dont raise the redline

Well i bought the head milled, the owner said nothing on how many thousands were milled off but only said it was milled to have a c/r of 10.3. Maybe somebody can help me out and tell how many thousands were taken off. Know im worried if the head was milled to much

If you are going all motor LS, You need to raise the CR
to the 11's and get 404's. Look at my sig for times and I am running a stock head, no P&P. Good Luck!!!

Go with the 404's
As long as you mill off about .018" you will at least stay in the stock dynamic compresson range. You will make more power with the 404s even with lower compression.
You would have to mill off like .05" to get 10.3:1, people say its safe to go .03" and anything after you MUST clay for clearances.

Need to have more of compression.
Also, I noticed you have a 4-1 header JDM 2.5", get rid of it.
Its design for Vtec motors. If I recall, its like 6-9hp loss vs a 4-2-1 header.

I disagree.
GSR's make what 160-170whp with boltons? (including the 4-1 header)
I made 165whp with just 404's
