I have a 4th generation accord, putting in an H22a with H22a tranny, my current tranny is automatic and the new tranny is automatic, do I still need to tap, or will it just bolt right up? Everything I've read has talked about whether to use the F22 cable tranny or the H22 tranny, but aren't all auto trannies hydrolic? So wouldnt the tranny already be drilled to fit? I don't know, I hope you guys do.

 

i believe you have to use the accord tranny mount for this. Me and my friends jus recently put in a manual H22 in a 4th gen and we actually used every accord mount cuz none of the prelude mounts worked. If i remember correctly, if we used any Prelude mounts, it was the rear. But as far as the tapping, you have to take 2 of the studs out, i think 1 or 2 of them work, but i know we had to tap 2. There are spots where Honda didnt drill out the hole and tap it, if you set the mount up to the tranny, you will see. All you have to do is drill out the holes and tap them, then what we did was take a mount nut and put it on the stud and impacted the stud into the hole after we tapped it and everything. If this is confusing jus let me know what you need to clear up and ill try to make it easier, im just in kind of a hurry, let me know. good luck.

 

Ok thanks a lot, I guess there's no way around it then. Here's another question for you, will I need to buy a different kind of A/C compressor for the H22a or will the same one from an F22 bolt up?

im ALMOST sure you have to have h22, but not 100% positive. try to bolt the f22 one up and see, i dunno
