So, I heard it was a fuel pump, did he get it running?

 

I heard he lost compresion in two cylinders... due to oil pump? Not sure but I also heard he was running something like 24lbs of boost.

 

It was gone from the track by the time we got up at 7am Sunday morning. Never did hear what was wrong.

 

As far as I know, it was towed to State College, PA...the owner was asking me about what time was the latest he could leave because the tow truck was four hours away...maybe Mitsu will cover the problem under the car's warranty

 

24 pounds is not that much for that motor. I know they put a new fuel pump in it, I guess that didn't work?

 

The last i heard a compression test was done as stated and that the consistency was off in two of the cylinders due to the fuel pump shutting down on him out on the track! If somebody knows more fill us in please .

Maybe they'll buy him a whole new car. That's about equally likely...

 

I really liked the fact that there was no yellow thrown before T1 and how the driver (and instructor?) managed to open the hood while sitting on the side of the track...which obviously means he/she/they were out of the car and milling about...WTF!?!

Either stay in the car, helmet on, belts on, or get the fug off the track...

 

dunno, but that dude was holding up the novice crew...

The flagging was, shall we say, not exactly impressive.

For example, throwing a full-track red in the instructor run group when a cone got knocked onto the pavement, OFF LINE...

His modifiied motor blows on its first track day and he wants to slap in a more powerful engine.

He should stick with stock for awhile on track IMO. but to each his own.

Yeah; people need to learn how to drive before they worry about adding more power.

 

Is it becoming clear why Mitsu is so concerned about owners using their cars on track? Is it the POS factor?

For whatever it's worth, there are about a half dozen local EVO that show up at Summit Point events.

They seem to perform credibly and reliably.

ECU's setup for Dyno-queens and drag racing = too lean up top = **** done blew up on track when they get hot and beat on for 30 min sessions.

he wasnt talking about stock ECU's. He was talking about dyno queen set up ECU's. This guy was running an AEM EMS and uego.

Everyone starts somewhere, right? I don't understand why ppl are ragging on this person. He/she is doing whatever they want to do with their money, but hey, they are out on the track in a sanctioned event just like everyone else, no? They are trying to improve their driving skills, they are doing it in a safe/controlled manner. What more can you ask?
