weight of my 1989 crx hf kinda disappointed
Well I went to a local gravel place today and weighed my car. The guy said it was 2020 lbs with me in it and 4 gallons of gas. Here are specs
1989 crx hf (rear interior ripped out)
gsr flat five rims
stock rear drum brakes
1991 dx brakes up front
1988 si engine
ebay generic header
oem gsr intake tube with k&n filter
2 1/4 crushed bend pipe no cat no resonator
generic muffler
4 gallons of gas
i weight 135lbs
no ac all stuff in engine bay is ripped out also
That seems a little heavy to me. What do you guys think?

sounds about right but remember those scales are made to measure alot more then 2k so its off. I would think its lower than that but not more then 100.

it's about right. Ignore those guys who say they have 1800lb 2g CRXs... cause they are quoting numbers without driver and or engine
I've got a completely gutted '90 HF, b16a, at 2251lbs with me in it (170lbs)

it sounds about right. i had a 90 hf with 88 doors and other weight reduction. i weighed in at 2025 w/o driver 3/4 tank and full bottle of nitrous and this was at maple grove's scales.

No that's not the case. they are very accurate. they dont measure by pressure, but by stress on torsional beams.
Our scale at work is accurate from a person or a bunch of water on the scale to a 60,000kg tractor trailer.
they usually weigh in 10lbs or kg increments though.

I have a CRX that weighs less than 1800lbs with driver and engine... and I have the corner weight scales to prove it. It is possible, there is a lot of weight to remove off of these cars. Keep in mind that I'm starting with an 88 HF.

yah that weight sounds right. I have a gutted 1991 DX hatch and mine weighed 2000 flat without me in it. Thats it ...2 seats, no AC, No carpet, no rear seats or rear plastics. So youre doing a-ok. SOHC by the way.
had my car weighed at Firebird International Raceway in Phoenix, AZ
87 Si hatch
half gutted
B20BVTEC
2010 lbs w/o driver
I was way dissapointed.
Everyone was like it's gunna weigh like 1800lbs?!?!?! Well guess again.

well i just want to get it 2 19xx lbs. I always remove one seat and my 10lb battery died so i had to replace with a stock weight battery. So I guess when im at drag strip i should be a little lighter. Either way im not really upset. And a 1989 crx hf should weight close to 1840 1860 with no driver and i think no gas and stock engine. I belive si engine weights more and dx hubs are heavier than hf front brakes. But it should be good.

for the 88. his is an 89. 89 hf is around 1900. I wonder if his had ac or not. I know he says it doesn't have it but I wonder if it had it before.

Dumps, truck stops (some), freight handlers, and your local track.

He had AC before. We took it out though.

Went to the track tonight. Very disappointed. CRX Si/B16 weighed 2450 with me in it. This is with the Wings West RS kit, sub, camcorder, spare tire, 1/2 tank of gas, etc...no weight reduction at all, YET. Ended up with a 15.6 as my best 1/4 ET.
