Brake work recommendation
I am new to this forum and I am not a car expert like you folks. I am looking for a reliable and less expensive shop to do the brakes for my Honda Accord 2000. It has done 75K miles. I was told in Jan that my front disks and the rear calipers needed to be replaced. Only bit over a year ago, I had the pads replaced. The mechanic put ceramic instead of metallic pads.
I am not auto-savvy. I can take it to the dealers ... but is this what I shoudl do? Would Midas, Penske or Pepboys do such work? What would I expect to pay?
Help appreciated!

Working for a Honda dealer let me warn you, many aftermarket places..Car X, Midas etc.. will usually try to sell you brake work that you don't need like Calipers. At the dealer we rarley replace calipers. We cut the rotors and put Honda pads on the car. They try to sell you calipers to make up for the price difference of crappy pads and cheap labor. Honestly eventhough the dealer is more expensive their service is guarenteed and done right the 1st time. If you have a Non-Honda shop do the work just use Honda products.
Remember you get what you pay for.

what's exactly did they said about your caliper?
unless you didnt change your brake pad for 100K, i dont see how you could toast your caliper.
well, i assume that you never have a brake fire before.

Honda dealer tech here as well. I second ILCD5 on his recommendation.
Another ploy these installers use is LIFETIME WARRANTY. Here's the catch: you have them install a set of cheap brake pads that probably don't last a year. You go back into them cause your lifetime pads wore out. Sure we'll give you a new set free they say. You just have to pay for labor. And they'll have you coming back again and again to replace those cheap lifetime pads and each time paying them inflated labor prices.
