is this throw out bearing or input shaft bearing?????
ok i have searched and cant really get a clear answer on this......when my car is idle and in neutral with clutch all the way out there is a "squeaking" noise coming from the transmission.....well if you just rest the weight of your foot on the pedal maybe pusing the pedal down 1 inch the noise stops...and also if you pump the clutch about 10 times and let it out all the way it stops sweaking but as soon as you press it in again and let it out it starts up again.....it is a constant noise from trans.. when idle in neutral...it isnt the clutch fork squeaking its constant.....please help
I'm not sure which it is in your case, but this is symptom for bad input shaft bearing on a couple cars ive messed with:
First there is a quiet whrrrring sound - it may go on and off but gradually more frequent
then a quiet clicking sound
then a much louder clicking sound
it is progressive over a period of time (i would say a few weeks but prob depends on a lot of factors)
if you wait too long the bearing will completely fall apart and will destroy your input shaft and/or tranny.
the sound is constant whether in gear or in neutral
the only time the sound stops is when pressing the clutch pedal in -- reason being the input shaft spins constantly and only stops spinning when you press the clutch in.

I had a loose throw-out bearing that made rattling noises when it was unloaded. If I just rested my foot on the clutch pedal it would stop. Just resting your foot on the clutch pedal without pressing it down doesn't change the speed or load on the input shaft.
Another way to check... Engine running, tranny in neutral, clutch engaged (that means the pedal is up). It should be making the noise. Quickly disengage the clutch (press the pedal down). A loose throw-out bearing will get quiet instantly. A noisy input shaft will take a couple seconds to coast to a stop.

I have the same problem, mechanic at Honda told me it's a release bearing. Try a quick test (he did this on my car):
While car is idling, open the hood and put pressure (didn't take much in my case) on the tranmission/clutch fork. It's located on the tranny side (passenger) and down at the front of the transmission. If the noise stops, it's the release bearing from what the Honda Mech said.
Good news? Part is like 30$ from the dealer.
Bad news?
Wether it's input shaft bearing or release bearing,You have to take the tranny out to get at it
Apparently , Hondas are notorious for this .....
