Tranny Horror Story
it all started about a year ago when my original M2F4 tranny's 5th gear synchro went out, but hey no biggie il just have to double clutch, so i did. then about 6 months ago my oem clutch began to slip. i decided to buy a new clutch and flywheel. then i thought to myself hey why dont i buy a newish tranny while its out, so i bought an M2B4 off of an H-T member. i bought the tranny for $800, and before i bought it the seller told me that he only used the tranny for a little while in his hatch and that it had no grinds, he had some vouches so i felt it was pretty safe.
the parts collected dust for a little while (about 1 month) before i could install them which took about 5 days. the first time i drove the car after that i was very unimpressed with the transmission, it felt very notchy and would grind going into 3rd and 5th esspecially at higher rpms. so i went back to double clutching, in every gear, which sucks. Now its getting worse, i can barely downshift without the tranny acting up, and whats even more annoying than that is how much my throwout bearing sqeaks which is partially my fault because i forgot to use that ultra-high-temp urea grease that honda makes.
So here is where im at, im starting school in less than a month and i dont have alot of money to work with. i want lsd but i dont know if i can get this tranny rebuilt in the US and i dont know how much it will cost. i also do not have alot of time on my hands which means id need somebody to help me with this. Right now i am in a world of **** and just want it to go away. any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Damn, that sux. I feel for you, man.
Who did you buy the tranny off of?? $800 is kind of steep for an H23 tranny. Especially if it grinds.
Sounds like the dude ripped you off.

An M2B4 is not an h23 transmission, its a JDM h22 with LSD. They usally go for closer to 1K + for a good one.
The snychros are gonna set you back like 400 bucks if you can find them, then labor to tear the tranny apart.
Im sorrythe guy totaly jipped you, id go after him. Im kinda iffy about buying stuff like that unless my friends personally know the guy. If you want to drop the cash on another one, there is a local one going for about $900
