Default A lap at Beaverun

Hey All,
It was great meeting so many of you at Expo 4. What a blast. Everybody was great. The track was incredible. The workers were super friendly. The students stayed safe and seemed to have learned a lot. Even the food was great. Trey you organized an amazing event. I think the longest cold-track time was caused by the some crazy guy parking the dead Evo next to the track (sorry), and even that was less than 10 minutes.
For those of you who who had never been to a track day before this one, Expo 4 was run pretty much as well as it gets. I believe everybody who went had a fabulous time.
I always do a track write-up when I leave a track and I thought some of you might like to read my version of a lap at Beaverun in a Type R. It's not too terribly long, and if anybody has any comments on it, I'd appreciate the feedback.

You can see it at

if you have any feedback please feel free to e-mail or call me anytime.

Thanks,

Sorry Screamin, I just meant of the cars I drove. Speaking of which, I had hoped to ride/drive yours, just ran out of sessions.
Beautiful car, did they flag you for smoking at some point? If so, what was up?

Austin, who I would love to know a lap time on, was using 5th on the back..... actually, all the R's went to 5th on the back now that I think of it. Anyway, Austin was just spinning the fool out of it on the front, staying at full throttle, near 9k, till just past the 100 before going to the brakes. It was great. I edited the track write-up to include the 5th gear upshift on the back straight. I hadn't mentioned the gear on the back, but it's good to have, thanks for catching that.

I almost needed 5th by the end of the back straight, but decided it would've used up too much time downshifting to 2nd coming into T10.

Ellicott City!!! That's where I grew up... too cool. If you were flat through 9 I would think that you would have needed 5th on the back straight. I guess all the R's I drove had some pretty serious power mods....

**** Yep, that was me with your brother for 2 sessions. Sorry about the edit, still on my trial 5 posts thing.

lol Negative on the flagging....I never saw smoke in my rear view, and no one certainly pointed it out to me. You sure it was me? I had to 04 and there was an 03 there that was also Suzuka Blue.

I was at like 8000rpm by a little before the kink with a pretty stock motor (JDM ITR pistons, otherwise stock), and was flat out from the top of the hill all the way until the second-to-last braking marker (until I started getting some brake fade near the end of the day). Were you the instructor for the 240? If so, that driver was my brother, I'm the goob with the giant "EXPO!" down the drivers side.

I wasn't instructor for the 240, no. But I do recall going past, or being passed (don't recall which one it was ) the ITR with "Expo" on the side of it.

Austin was running 1:14s, Rob with his R&D car was running 1:14s, the NSX was running 1:15s/1:16s
I was running 1:18s and getting rolled in Intermediate, specially the Blue Supra TT
