Default Apex VAFC

I'm looking for some info. I'm researching the Apex VAFC (old and new).

First, I wanted to make sure that this will work on my car.

1990 Civc
B16
Pr3

Second, How easy is it to hook up?

Third, What do you guys think of the 2 products? I have not bought one yet so please be honest.

Thanks,

Rob

New VAFC allows finer tuning adjustments.. VAFC1 works well for me.

both will work on your car.

they both are pretty easy to install. i suggest soldering it in.

they are great products, but kinda too flashy . thieves love this stuff and not too mention cops.

so hide that thing

That is where I mounted my VAFC. Made some brackets and I mounted it to my cluster.

I'll take some pics of the brackets if you need.

i installed mine on a PW0 ecu wiring harness...if it comes with instructions and a wiring diagram (like mine did) you should have no problems. It took me 2 hours with a dinner break lol.

thats where mine is (pic before any stereo)

simple to install if you have ANY experience with wiring AT ALL... they give you diagrams just make sure your using the right one and a second grader could do it.

Mine is not daily driven.......

You can hook the fan up to a switch and it works just the same. That is what I have done..........well 2 switches.......one for the fan and the other for the heating element. Works great for what I use it for.

my vtec kicks in at 5000 rpm

when racing from stop i rev my engine to 2500 rpm so i won't spin to much

here is the question : where should i set my vafc vtec to kick in?
3000?, 3500?, 4000?,4500?

i am trying to leave bihind the b18c1 on a 1995 eg lol

well unless your getting it tuned while changing the vtec crosover point, there is no point in changing it.... it will most likely bog down or loose power without being tuned. mine is still at the stock crossover of 4800 i used it for a a/f tuner not to change the engagement of vtec.

i do sugest that anyone who gets this doesnt have a stock motor, it wont do much for you if you do. i have a semi built head and i wanted a little extra tunability without going engine management.

and to answer the ? about the ac controlls. i ripped it out. along with every other peice of my ac/heat system. not a big deal to me. dont drive the car all the time. just a have fun car.

How does it measure air fuel??? I have my 02 sensors unplugged. Will that affect how the Vafc works?

It doesn't measure Air/Fuel, nor does it require o2 sensors.

I'm all about that mount, but put into the center of the bottom recessed into the plastic hood a lil bit.
