Default Oil in Sparkplugs

Hey guys I found some oil in my 3rd spark plug today. What can be causing it. How do i fix it? Is it something i can do at a parking lot. If Not, how much will the average shop charge for somehting like this?
Any input would be appreciated!

i'm not an expert, but i've heard several engine guys i know talk about blown piston rings. that involves ripping the entire engine down and installing new rings around the pistons to create proper sealage. otherwise oil leaks up and into the cylinder. i don't know, but could be a headgasket too. either case, you are gonna shell out moola for this. hope its not these two!

Where exactly is the oil? Oil above the threads of the spark plugs comes from the spark plug tube seals. Kinda like part of the valve cover gasket, but sometimes sold separately.

Oil on the firing tip is more serious. But that can simply drip there while you're taking the plug out.

If you pull the boot of the spark plug wire out and see oil on there, its probably just bad spark plug tube seals. They cost like $1.50 each, but most dealerships will only sell them in sets of 4. As far as install, its extremely easy, dont spend $100 for a shop to install it.

Just remove all of the bolts to the valve cover and remove all of the spark plug wires. Once the valve cover is off, turn it over and around the spark plug holes you'll see where the tube seals go. Replace them and you're set.

You might also want to replace the valve cover gasket, as it really isn't that great of an idea to reuse that gasket. That usually costs around 10 bucks.
