Default GUDE head package???

Hey I have a 00 civic hatch with a JDm H22 in it. I/H/E whatever.. I have been thinkin about getting more power out of it while I am building my turbo motor. Gude has an H22 package that they promise 40 WHP. Which would put my daily driver motor over 200 hp. Has anyone worked with gude or has any comments on the idea? Better way to spend 1400 bucks?

Thanks
Mike

Going turbo on a h22a is a whole different ball game then na. I have seen lots of non-sleeved h22a's underboost take a ****....
It all depends on how much you wanna spend..
Bump for clean hatch
TE-37 are favorates anyways....

I have another H22 block that I am sending to AEBS to be sleeved for next summers turbo project. I was inquiring because I have saw alot of people with over 200 whp on the h22s and with just that head package and bolt ons they claim over 200 whp. I was just thinkin maybe someone out there had it already and would like to comment or had heard something about it..

I want to keep one of my h22s NA for roadracing and autoX while having one turbo for drag racing only basically just to toy with....

Mike

Going turbo on the H22 is such a larger step than on the Bs if you want to run any amount of boost to make it worth having. That is why I am lookin for something guick and easy and RELIABLE for my daily..

Don't know, I had a Gude head package on my non-vtec SOHC back in '98. No dyno sheets to prove it but 1/4 times were like 15.5 to 14.9s just swapping the head package.

At the time, I thought it was worth it.

"Seeing it" and "believing it " is totally two different things.

Now, i"m not sure Gude stuff is any good nowadays since I don't have any expericene with them. So I don't know.

I lost horsepower with thier package and I'd go down there in person to talk to them...but they would give me the run around(like they have for so many)...I ended up almost going to court and I lost all that money on dyno tuning and waht not. Went back to stock after that.

i lost horsepower too
they completely did my motor from the bottom up
i just dyno'd a few weeks ago at 100whp.....yes....i said 100whp
the second run was 85whp
my head looks as if it was milled+PnP'd too much, therefore causing the head not to flow properly

i'll post my motorwork paperwork along with dyno-sheet

**** GUDE!!!

I did a Gude Head package on a Turbo Charged 420a DSM and it gained 11 mph through the traps and nearly 2 seconds off the E.T.. Ive seen Hondas go slower also so maybe some engines are easier to make power with than others.

i bought a Z6 head package from them about 4 years ago and i got everything and it looked good. but the head was cracked, the valve seals where shot and the ecu was no good because it had a fried diode. they said it must have been shipping and told me to send it back. so i sent it back and never got a call for a month or so. i call them and they said that they are looking into the problem and will get back to me. its been four ******* years now and i still dont have my **** and they have my money. **** Bill Gude and everyone there.

Wow I never expected to hear that from them. They seem super helpful and seemed trustworthy.. I guess I will not go that route then.

Ya Bill will seem nice at first but as soon as you start complaining(which you will)...he'll turn into a little bitch. As far as the 40hp for 1500 goes, you can show him your dyno sheet for all he cares but will end up just telling you that you installed the parts and now theres nothing he can do.

My boy did a H23 head pkg with the stage 3 cams.......They sent him a total of 3 heads, and none of them worked properly and the last one caused him to blow everything up, (i forgot what the exact problem was), this was like 2 years ago But to sum it up Gude sucks ***!!

actually it was 4 heads from them, and one was cracked as well ...
there (re-grind cams) suck , but there port job was good , however when they ported the head there was so many metal shavngs in the head that after it was cleaned by a mchine shop , my oil pump locked up from from metalic debris getting caught in the oil pick up , the car in the quote was my car and it took me having to threatenh them of a law suit in order to get some decent **** from them and when it was all said and done it took a total of a full year to even get all my parts ....

ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS LOOK THEM UP ON THE BBB AND YOU WILL SEE LIKE 150 COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIER PRODUCT ....

BUT BILL GUDE SAYS " WE WIN ENDURANCE RACES ALL THE TIME WITH OUR HEAD PACKAGES, THEY ARE MADE TO BE RUN HARD" ------ BILL --- **** YOU !

STREGTHEN YOUR ROD BOLTS AND PUT NEW BEARINGS IN YOUR **** AND SPRAY THE **** OUT OF IT , YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO RUN A 50 SHOT AND BE COOL , I'M NOT A BIG FAN OF JUICE BUT A GOOD TURBO SETUP IS GONNA RUN YOU AT LEAST 5G'S AFTER TUNNING AND ALL , $1500 IS ENOUGH FOR A NITROUS KIT BIGGER INJECTORS AND AND A BIGGER FUEL PUMP , AND YOU WILL BE SATISFIED WITH THE JUMP ..... BUT I WOULD GO TURBO ,,,"JUST START SAVING YOUR LOOT "
