Default Mini Me, You Aren't Completing Me!

Alright
I took my 90 Crx Si & did a z6 swap. Z6 head, timing belt, gaskets, y8 HG, the whole nine yards. New plug wires & plugs (for the Z6, not the A6). After 3 weeks of work she's finally back together. The timing mark from the crank is lined up like it should be, and the cam gear is between 11 and 12 o'clock. Kept OBD0 and stok ecu for now, have a modded ECU which will go along with a RPM switch when I get it.

Car turns over NO SWEAT. you can hear it trying to start. Gets fuel, gets air. ECU blinks out 15 times small blinks, which I assume is code 1. But my O2 sensor is on
nly 5K miles old, and works fine! the ignition coil is only 3K old, and I know she puts out. The battery is new, and reads good on the voltmeter. I checked all connections like I should, and they are all good.

HELP!
suggestions please!

Thanks

Dr.

15 blinks is your ingnition output. check your distriburtitor. there are two white wires on the big plug. check contanutiy with the ecu.

I'll look into the timing, but I swear it's gotta be right. IT kinda does sounmd like it's a hair off though, like you all said

The dist worked no sweat before the swap, what could be off about it? It can only stick in one way, and there's 2 plugs you can't mess up. HELP!

JC18 said check continuity, not check if you mixed up the plugs. 15 blinks is code 15. You should listen to him.

code 15 is dist. Dunno what that could mean though, because I know the dist worked, it can only fit in 1 day, and both plugs only go in one way.

I'll check the cont. though, thanks!

Anyone else?

there are two wires on one of the dist plugs try switching them around, and make sure all of your wiring is right, did i buy a cam gear because mini-mes timing is of by 4.5 degrees

The simple first double check all your grounds. There is one on the thormostat most pepole forget to put back on and there dizzy suffers. Also check your getting power at the BLK/YEL wire on the two pin plug with your ign. on.

checked the t-stat ground, tried the Dist in several places, firing order, and ground. It all looks good, and i'm 99% sure timing is perfect.

1. Where is the t-stat ground? I don't see one. . and when I replaced the thermostat I didn't see one. I even checked my service manual.

2. the VTEC has 2 plug-ins. The first is green and I forget the other one. Which one activates the VTEC, what does the other one do ?

I'm completly stumped, it's SO close to starting, i'm being teased!

Listen to see if you hear your main relay click when you switch you ignition on. My friend is working on his rex with the same problem. Did not have enough time to troubleshoot. Code 15 by HELMs manual is ignition. Disconnect the 2pin connector going to the distributor and check to see if you have battery voltage in reference to chasis ground. (12V)
I would highly recommend you get a helms manual. It gives you troubleshooting flow charts.

I believe I hear it click, but it wouldn't even try to start if the relay is bad right?

I'll check the dist for voltage, but if it's turning the head it's gotta be working right?

I have a service manual saved on my computer, but to be honest I'm not so good @ reading those things.

if you dont here a click then the engine is'nt geting any fuel.

If the dizzy has no power your sparkplugs cant fire. The starter is turning the head over.

can you email me the service manual as an atachment to me?

I must hear a click. I pulled the plugs and they had fuel on them. . so there is a click.
The dizzy must also be firing then. I just wonder that bnecause it's not modified i'm told it could be running so retarded it's not starting and causing the dist to not work.

I can't email a 23M file, but pm or email me and I can send them online.
