type r pistons in LS block?
im in the process of rebuilding my B18b1 when I noticed a few cracks in the pistons (had alot of boost going to it before, im not boosting anymore though) so now that I have to buy a set of pistons i might as well pump up the compression a little bit. If I throw a set of civic type r pistons in what will my compression be? do I have to modify any thing else? i heard something about rod mods? do you have to modify itr pistons with ls rods? how much does it usally cost for the mods? does it loose reliabitly?

CTR pistons will give you about 11.8:1 compression with a LS head
ITR Pistons will give you about 10.8:1
P30 b16 pistons will give you about 11.1:1 compression
P30 pistons will bolt right on your LS RODS
CtR and ITR you need to m ill 1mm off each side of the rod... easy to do.
CTR pistons on LS rod=LOTS of compression, good for all motor.

we put CTR pistons in alot of ls blocks, but if you are not able to take the car for tunning on a dyno and not willing to run on higher oct to be safe I would go with the B16a pistons and it will still be a very good all motor set-up.
I have always ran 93 octane so I think that should be safe for all those compresion ratios. thanks for that info guys its exteamly helpful - I think I might just go with the P30 now.
but if I did want to go CTR is that a simple cheap mod for a machine shop and do they know what I would be talking about?
