Will Honda ever sell another R in the States?

Will Honda ever make another Type R and bring it to the US. Its been about three years already since they stoped making ITR's in the States. I wonder if it ever occurs to Honda that people want ITR's or CTR's . Could you imagine the waiting lists for ITR's and CTR's if they ever came out. If people are willing to pay over 5K dollars in Markups for Subarus and Mitsubishi's Honda could do it to. Maybe we should start up a petition.
haha......I'll sign the petition.....i think the Japanese market loves to see us hurt over this type of thing....but this is a question that will never have an answer until they just come out and say it at one of the major car debut shows

Damn that is kinda scary . A type S goes for around 23K so your about right. 28K would sound right.

But people AREN'T willing to pay 5K in markups for Subarus and Mitsubishis. In fact, you can buy the Evo at a discount.
Remember, some of us bought the ITR at a discount, too...

There really isn't that much difference between the USDM Type S and the JDM ITR than can't be fixed from the aftermarket or by importing JDM ITR parts. The main item, the chassis, is identical between the two. This was not the case with the DC2 versions and a lot more was different between the two.

I am not so sure. My GSR that came with a Comptech package (which included alot more than the A Spec does), stickered for 27K (about 2k more than the 98 ITR that I was planning on buying). Acura just won't be able to sell the A Spec for that price (or at all) if and when the R gets here.

I know we won't be getting an EP3R or DC5R this late in the game. As for the price, I wouldn't expect an R to cost $5k more when the DC2R only costed $2k more and it had a lot more custom work in it (although it is rumored that Honda lost money on them).

I even showed the article to my friend cause I was excited about it.

i thought i seen the same thing, they showed a picture of one red and one black ep3 but im positive it said the car would have all the body styling of the R but nothing performance of the R( suspension, motor etc.)

Oh so true. Best bang for your buck even though I hate the car.

there wouldn't be enought to change about the Type S to make it worth Honda's wild. The Type S is very nice, but no type R. I think they would have to get rid of the S to bring in the R and I don't think Acura is willing to do that. The RSX is the affordable Acura.
