I drained my transmission fluid today in the process of an engine swap and I discovered that the fluid was a milky color. Also, the fluid had lost all its viscous properties. I know this is what engine oil looks like after coolant is mixed with it but whats going on with my tranny fluid? Thanks guys, i'm clueless!

i replaced the transmission fluid with honda mtf less than 10k miles ago so I really doubt that is the case. Any other suggestions.

 

i had a coolant leak that filled the tranny thru the speedo sensor cable hole and it led to the end of my tranny. the fluid came out looking like what ur describing.

 

water or coolant got into your tranny.....

 

thanks guys....thats what I was thinking. Do you think it entered through the speedo cable?
