Default CYP sensor

I am wondering if a check engine code of 9 (cyp sensor) could have anything to do with a bad ignition switch. They had a recall on my 1999 Honda Accord EX for the ignition switch I am hoping that they have something to do with one another. Anybody?

I am hoping I don't have to replace my distributor.

If you have that code, you either looking at a short of some kind or the dist. sub. assy. The CYP ( cylinder posistion sensor) is part of the distributor sub assy. More likley then not though, its a bad sub assy.

Does that mean its quite possibly going to call for a Distributor rebuild or New Distrbutor all together?

Yes, If possible try and find one at a junk yard. It's not that comon for then to go bad. A used one should be fine.
