This motor has to run on 91 octane(california), just my car for the weekend. Not running it everyday, just my fun race car

Any info would be great, like i said just a weekend car so it can be pretty crazy(motor). Give me some feedback or comment would be great.

I been out of the scene for almost 8 years. I know a lot but 8 years is a lot of time. Technology is crazy now, i search and have some understanding but want a second opinion.

Thanks Guys

Just an FYI.

I run 94 octane on a similar build (all LS, CTR pistons, etc.) and I get slight pinging below 2000 RPM under load.

Make sure you get the thing tuned. I wouldn't even consider putting 91 octane in my car. You realize you'll be somewhere around 12.4:1 compression, right?

we have built some blocks that are almost the same, I would go with crower valve train and also even their cams or web cams, depending on how good you want the motor to idle cam specs are different. also maybe try like itr or b16a pistons instead of the CTR's if you plan on not running anything more than 91 oct. You might what to look into a b20 bottom end and go that way for the bottom end since the head is the same and get some more liter out of the motor. Some 310 cc or 440cc depending on who is tunning your car will do just fine for injectors

Yeah I thought Ctr are to high comp. for 91 octane, but i have heard people say with good tuning, hondata 200, it can be achieved. But of course it has to be tunned perfectly so their is no pinging. Probably just go with P30 or PR3 than and if i want more compression I could mill the head or get a thinner head gasket. THat probably the best way because i can always up the compression, not so with the CTR.

What intake manifold should i use ITR, Skunk2, or Edelbrock Victory X??

If i use a itr oil and water pump what timing belt should i use??? I have heard that when using a ITR oil and water pump on a B18B its longer/shorter or something like that.

you can use a ITR oil pump which would be a good idea. the water pump makes no diffrence BUT if you do decide to use a VTEC water pump you must use a VTEC timing belt. they teeth on the water pump pullies are diffent.

just stick with the LS water pump and timing belt. dont mix them up or you will have timing belt issues.

also the skunk 2 manifold would be an excelent choice.

use a dtrfab headers it should give you 10 more horses specially in top and use a skunk2 manifold have it extrudehone and use 70mm throttle body for superb throttle response and you should make 190 up @ wheels
