scammers...... WTF???
I have been reading on this board for a while, but have not been posting too long. WTF is up with all the scammers? This **** is getting out of hand. Is there not a way that the mods can set up a transaction service where the seller signs a legal agreement about the goods they are shipping? That would cut down on a lot of the bullshit. There has to be some way to cut this down, ladies and fellas, do not buy ANYTHING unless you get it through paypal or a cashiers check, that way you can at least cancel the transaction or file a claim. **** all these scammers man. I feel sorry for everyone who has been scammed and i wish i could personally help some of you out. Can we at least get a post up where we can contact the proper authorities if we do get scammed? I have a few deals pending here lately and im about scared to death to go through with them. If anybody in southwest VA or Northeast tennessee gets scammed let me know. I have some personal friends who are state police/police in both areas. My cousin is an X-trooper. Im just tired of seeing all of the crap guys. Anybody needs anything from these areas, give me a PM
The only way to let others know that you are legit is to have a vouch thread. Unless the moderators come up with something like a feedback forum or something.
to a vouch thread.
to a vouch thread.
even a vouch thread doesnt seem good enough anymore. i have read numerous posts about people saying "well he had a good vouch so i went for it"
The thing with vouch threads is that you have to actually get ahold of the people that vouched for the person you're buying from. Trust your gut. If it seems shady, throw the peace sign and walk away.
Scammer may think they are getting away with it, but I believe in Carma, it will hit them twice as hard. Anyhow I protect myself my paying through paypal with both parties varified.

Unfortunately, vouch threads are only useful to certain degree. They're completely useless if vouchers are friends of seller. Generally, people aren't going to screw over their friends. It's completely different story when buyer is total stranger, who lives across country.

This is true. If you pay by paypal with a credit card it would be easier to contest if you dont get your products. You can just let the credit card company take care of the situation as you are insured by them.

I feel more secure by selling things by PayPal.......for one it is faster on both parts. I can ship the product out faster and I can get my money faster. Most of my customers are all the way across the country. I just like to make sure I do a good job with a transaction so I can have repeat customers and so that I have a better reputation so it makes it easier for me to sell things without people being soo weary of me. I would NEVER do anything to scam someone (I would have a guilty conscience). I dunno i guess a lot of it has to do with the way the person was raised (my mom would beat the living crap out of my if I lied to her).
I dunno, I just think it is unreasonable for people to do things like this....especially when there are soooo many honest ways to make money

I got scammed i think, i haven't received my item yet, i paid $75 for it, i don't remember his H-T because the last time i talked to him was a week ago, and after 7 days, your im's get erased. I know his name is Kendall Weaver from NC. he also claims that he drives a type r, i paid him through postal money order. I got scammed, and this suck, but that's ok cause i also believe in karma, he'll regret it in the next life.

just pm him and he will gladly send you your stuff.....better yet look in my vouch thread, he posted a vouch for me......you can pm him through that

I sent it out and it got sent back for some odd reason. I checked the address against the one you gave me and it matched up. The guy at the UPS place said that packages regularly get mixed up and sometimes sent back. I wasn't online for over a week due to one of my friends ending up in the hospital (long story that I really don't want to talk about). Anyway, if you don't receive it by the beginning of next week, then give me a shout and I'll see what can be done from there.

actually this is totally wrong, because you can stilll get ripped off by someone hacking into someone elses paypal account ( yes it has happened to a few on this board) and the cashiers checks are easily made, even western union moneyorders have been forged. the only sure fire way to not get ripped off using paypal is paying with your credit card, because the credit card company will reinburse you and will difinitely follow up on the fraud<<thats what they do. and if you must send a paper payment. use a personal check because once again your bank will reinburst you if its fraud and it can be traced when its cashed out. understand that banks and credit card companies do not loose too much money when they pay you back they have a special fraud insurance that they invest in and that grows interest for these types of payouts.
