Alright. I'm going to RIT in august and as many of you know, rochester, ny has PLENTY of snow. i've found driving my accord makes for fun understeer ;-), because of the lack of any traction control, and going through the corners and such hard sucks without a LSD. i also like the 5th gear fuel economy of the accord trany on the highway (i live 5 hours from rochester too, so it'd be nice to have fuel economy).

i want to put an LSD in my accord while keeping the current 5th gear ratio. i havn't been able to find an LSD for a 5th gen tranny. i know the prelude trany sorta bolts straight in. i need the half shafts or something. don't remember. but if the trannys are interchangeable, i'm assuming the housings are the same. i'm then assuming that the internals are very similar, except the ratios.

now the question: if no one knows of an LSD (not that Phantom grip ****) for a 5th gen accord, then is it possible to put the 5th gear of the accord tranny into the prelude one and install the prelude one into my car? i'm find with closer ratios because when i drive hard i usualy stay in 2nd or 3rd. i also find the middle gears in the accord to be a little too far apart.

any other options i can't think of would be awesome. thanks a lot!

 

The Quaife ATB will work fine for your Accord or Prelude Tranny.
A LSD for a prelude (non-sh) will work for your Accord tranny.
