Buying an Accord: help
After some looking, I found an affordable car.
For 600$ (can maybe get to 500$ in cash)
A 94' 2-door Accord in good condition, manual, 214k miles, but needs a new clutch.
it still runs however.
My question is this, If I buy this car, I realize that the engine won't last forever so eventually i'd need to buy a new engine and maybe a new trans (preventive maintance?). For reliablilty and possibly later on turbo'ing, would it be better to buy a cheap f22 engine and buy a h22 trans for reliability? Or just get an H22 and keep the f22 trans.

definitely don't do this...gears would be way too short for your f22 and gas milleage would be shitty...

this is a slightly better idea than the original, but still not optimal...if you get an h22 engine, get an h22 tranny...
if i were you, i'd buy the car, swap an h22 in it and sell it, and then use the money i made to buy a different car all together...but that's just me...if you want the car for your own, look into swapping a low milleage f22 and boost it...

either are decent setups. i dont do alot of highway driving so i dont have to worry about being at 4k for a long time, that sucks if your boosted and youre there. h23tran+f22+turbo+ aftermarket clutch owns yer face, for me and where i live anyway. i would take the h22+f22 tran, save some money, get the h tranny soon after, and 45 shot of nitrous, new clutch, call it a day
