Default main o2 sensor question

i got cel code 1 - main o2 sensor..

i asumed that was the o2 sensor on the exaust manifold (in my case, header) so i replaced it.

i'm STILL getting cel code 1.

isn't that the main o2 sensor ?

does your check engine light come on?

dont get confused and think that your pcm flashing once as soon as the car turns on is your 02 sensor, Im sure you do mean its a continous code 1 flash and your cel comes on.

back to the topic. most likely youve got a wiring problem, or else your burning coolant/oil in a way that its enough to kill the o2 eventually. obviously though this is still throwing the code immediately after replacing it so it would lead you too a wiring problem. Id check there first.

yes, the cel comes on, and it's a re-occurring error code flash..

i'll check out the wiring and see what i can find out..

thanks..

no, i didn't try that.. didn't know you 'could', and dont know 'how'..

is that something that needs done when i change out the o2 sensor in order to stop the code from coming ?

i just asumed when i changed out the sensor it would stop giving the error..

then start the car and just let it sit for a few minutes at idle don't apply the gas just let it idle and warm up. make sure you not getting any codes, and proceed to beat the snot out of it....lol
