Well, timing belts aren't supposed to stretch, but if it did, the only thing you can do is replace it. Check the tensioner for it too. How many miles does it have?

I recently had ALL my belts replaced. The timeing belt, a/c belt, p/s and alt belts, plus a new waterpump, all for $308. Bout half was labor half was parts...I was extreamly happy to see that bill...(I also drive a Dodge Stealth R/T Twin Turbo with the DOHC V6...you can imagine how fun that is to replace...)

To answer this, yes, timing belts do stretch. Take for instance someone running an OEM timing belt with Toda Spec B's. The timing belt will stretch, if not break, within 10k miles of hard abuse. That is due to the fact of the high strain those cams put on.

But, even with all OEM internals, over time your belt with stretch. That is why they recommend changing it at certain intervals.

Unless you're heavily modified, get an OEM belt, water pump, and tensioner. Those parts alone can be had for under $150. And, if you are mechanically inclined, you can install yourself. If not, pay to get it done.
