thats strange as hell...but in my repair manual signs of stalling/engine cut are caused from the following.
1.loose faulty connections at distributor, coil or alternator
2.insufficient fuel reaching injectors
3.vacuum leak at gasket between intake mani and throttle body
4.idle speed incorrect
5.clogged fuel filter/ water in the fuel system
6.faulty emissions system
7.incorrectly gapped plugs
8.faulty wires
9.vacuum leak in the injection system, intake mani, or vacuum hoses
10.valve clearances incorrectly set

Have the fuel filter and fuel pump pressure checked. Although it sounds like more than just that, it's very weird, indeed!
Good luck!

Or he can go to the dealer and have them replace the ignition switch under the recall. They cause a stalling problem like described.

We dont charge for that at our shop. We just cut the wires and let the customer worry about hooking them back up. (we get their ok on that first though)

Ignition recalls also exist for the Acura CL in the 97+ models too. That has nothing to do with your problem, but I felt like contributing anyways.
