4bidden shifter settings
what are the settings on the 4bidden shifter... i know one is stock one is light and the other is for race i guess. about to put one in. im assuming the top hole is for stock setting, the middle is for light, and the bottom is for race. or do i have this backwards. let me know guys thanks.
Its easiest to get a long flathead screwdriver and get behind the lip of the clip and hit the screwdriver with a hammer and it'll pop right off after a few hits.
I have a picture that would explain this a bit better, msg me on AIM.

hey man....
sorry took so long to get back on the subject !
but i wanted to let you know that the install went great. the only thing that gave me any trouble was those clips, but once i decided to stop worry about breaking something they popped out with alittle force ! everything else went great. i would suggest to future buyers to get some grease from your local autoparts store and grease everything up good when you reinstall. i set it directly to the shortest setting and the feel is very nice.
its a tiny bit stiffer and much more direct, you feel exactly where the gears are. the throw reduction is great !! one other word of advice. if you set the shifter to the shortest setting the link bar will rub the inside of the center console where the shift boot is attached. this will cause the console to buldge a bit when in 1,3, and 5 gear. what i did was take a razor blade and slowly carve out some of the plastic on the inside of the shiftboot connector. This really was no big deal, took me about 10 minutes and its all underneath on the inside of console so when its back together you cant see anything. know it shifts perfectly in every gear !! plus, i wanted to thank 4bidden for the great customer service he gave. your a stand up guy selling a stand out product. you can quote me on that on your webpage if you like man !! LOL thanks again

^^^ The console removal isnt necessary, but light mods are for you 4gen Accord guys unfortunately. That console just wasn't made for short shifts unfortunately.

Oh, forgot about the shortest settting, but it might be close. If you can find a Prelude base plate...snag it. One guy did that and said he didnt have to do anything else for it to clear.
EDIT: This is in a 90 Accord.

I just relocated the base plate underneath using the PSpec Replica I got from H22accordsir a while back, but I'll soon be picking up Jeremy's Short Shifter, this other knockoff has been horrible and I've been waiting too long to pick up Jeremy's.

in a 4th gen prelude, you've got to make a sort of half moon cut where the shifter cable rubs on the under side of the console. i've had mine set on 'race' since about a week after getting it. All it takes is about 20 minutes of careful dremel grinding and be sure not to take out the staples affixing the shift boot to the console.
jeremy i love your shifter

Thanks for the comments guys.
Yes, in a 4gen Prelude you will have to trim a bit of the ring underneath to use the race setting. It shouldn't rub on the middle setting though.
BTW: 4gen guys....new part coming out soon! When its release the thing I call a "website" now will be redesigned and have all the info and installs on it.

I do it mostly because about 25% of my orders are for Accord guys. The Accord base plate is shorter than the Prelude one which makes the top setting rather stiff in their cars. I don't get the chance to talk to each of my customers personally or I could tell just the Accord guys this and tell the Prelude guys it isnt a big deal.
Also, the top setting requires slight trimming of the plastic underneath the console so with the "recommended" setting, its a bolt-in, no modification mod.
