BIG PROBLEM!!!!!
I bought a '94 Civic EX which I thought had nothing more than a leaking water pump. So I began changing the water pump and I noticed that one of the bolts was fairly loose. Thinking nothing of it, upon reinstalling the water pump, the bolt broke off in the block. My question is...Is there ANY way that I can get around having to pull the engine and send the block to the machine shop? I'm sure the bolt can be drilled out, but I'm not able to get a drill between the tight space a of the engine and the frame. ANY ADVICE WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
is any part of it sticking out where you could get vice grips on it and could turn it enough to get it loose then pull it out?....or you can try to even take a dremmel and cut a slit in the end so you can use a bent flat head to turn it out.
hopefully you can use a left handed drill bit to drill it out and use a bolt extractor. otherwise drill it out and use a thread chaser on it to restore the threads and if all else fails a Helix coil could save your butt too, You might have to jack the engine up in the bay to get a small right handed drill in there tho. Good luck
