Question about 1994 Honda Accord Vtec computer
My friend has a 94 Accord LX Coupe. He recently swapped in the 2.2vtec from a 97 Accord. He has the car running but the car doesnt pass 5000rpm. He told me its because he needs the computer from a 96 Vtec Accord. Is this true? Also, he told me he is having a very hard time of finding a computer from a 96 Accord vtec 5 spd. IS there another computer he could use that will make his car run properly like maybe a Prelude SRV or GSR? Someone told me to get a Civic SI Vtec computer and give it to ECU Tuning or a shop like that and have it reprogramed and it will do the job plus rev all the way to 9000rpm. What is the best solution?
yeah, plus ur running an OBD-1 computer on an OBD-2 engine... get a 96 vtec ecu and youll be fine... or basically just find a computer from an obd-2 accord with a vtec 4 cyl engine and youll be fine. that or you could find a vtec obd-1 computer from an accord and convert your engine to obd-1.
You'll be better off getting an ECU from the same generation and OBD-II. So get an f22b1 ecu from a 96 or 97 accord. The 98+ accord have F23's so I doubt those ECUs would work.
