BEST SWAP/CONVERSION FOR CHEAPEST PRICE!!!!!!
i have a 1988 crx dx and i wanna know which swap or conversion would be the best that is inexpensive i have the dpfib2 keep in mind i dont have much to spend
zc, sohc vtec, b16a in that order.
to make the most of the first two -- get an si/ex tranny.
you can screw around and put mpfi on your motor but don't waste your time unless you want to perfect your mechanic skills.

Well dude, Im in the same exact situation. I also own a 1988 honda CRX DX. I happen to pick up a d16a6 w/ SI Tranny *in working condition...i coulda dropped it straight in* for $175. You can either rebuild it to be High Comp..or F/I. And theres a crapload of aftermarket parts for the D series. It's up to u bro?
I'm trying to get my friend to go a hyrbid B-series swap. Something I always wanted to do was swap a Honda engine, just so that I could say that I've swapped out an engine before. I used to recommend an H22 over everything else, but I love the hybrid B-series.

Best bang for the $ is prolly a SOHC engine that is built. Drops right in and there are ton of parts available for them. DOHC ZC is worthless imo. Why not get the SOHC ZC that makes the same amount of power with one less cam and there are more parts available for it?
Just my .02 cents

Why don't you start with basics first?
All the swaps metioned are all going to require a MPFI swap.
The parts for this (PM6 ECU, Si/HF distributor, Intake Mani/TB harness plugs)can be acquired for dirt cheap ~$100, then when your piggy bank gets bloated from all the $$ you;ve been saving up, then you can consider the swaps metioned.
