Thanks HT... managed to avoid being ripped off
well as some might have saw i was gonna buy a 98 spec itr tranny from a guy. well i ask you and got some ideas and what to look for and here's what was brought to my house. well i can say that it does have lsd. and does have the code y80 but the serial tag is place on the wrong side, no holes for vin plate, no lsd n3e stamping, what tranny could this be a jdm gsr tranny with lsd?

i had a GSR lsd tranny and it had the stamped LSD on it just like the R. but it kinda looks the same. dont get ripped man stay away from it
I had a stock B16A LSD trans, the LSD markings had wore away but it was for sure an LSD equipped trans.
Also the absence of a VIN tag and bolts for it means its most likely a Japanese market transmission.

This is true but that bar code sticker is not supposed to be there at all...if it was a JDM tranny it would just have nothing there....I beleive that bar code is supposed to be on the backside.

its a 92-94.5 B16 LSD transmission
same gear ratios as the USDM ITR/96-97 JDM ITR w/ the 4.4 final drive
Not a bad transmission, but obviously not the same value as the type R tranny.

and how do you figure? read what you posted.
anyone who knows anything about trannies will pay the same for either.

how can that be a 92-94 b16a trannie. when there's a Y80 stamp. the b16a trannies are stamped Y21. according to the pic it's a 94-95 gsr trannie to me....if it has lsd.

every type R tranny has holes for the vin plate jdm or not. but if anyone thinks other wise then your entitled to be wrong.
