Default To paint crxs black trim, or not...

It seems like when most people get their crx painted, they opt to paint the black trim along with the rest of the body. I dont know if they do it cause its easier, or because they think it looks better... but I personally have grown to like the two tone look with the black plastic trim.

I guess one of the problems is that the black trim on most crxs has faded by now... so I was thinking, what would it look like if you got the trim painted w/ black paint, and clear coated w/ the rest of the car? Has anyone done this two their crx?

Or, it it possible to replace the pieces w/ new oem honda pieces? I just got a new crx and it has new front and rear bumpers from honda and the only pieces really fading are the ones that run along the door. Along with that, i would REALLY like to replace the window trim as it is also fading. Anyone have the part numbers for these, and know how you could go about ordering them?

Thanks a lot. I tried to post this in the appearance forum first, but it said I didnt have permission

For the door trim, if you're talking about the the vertical piece after the window I bought mine straight from a honda dealership, but I had a friend that worked there and it was only $50. But with no discount it would have been around $75 I think.

I hes talking about all the trims, (door mouldings/ bottom of door)

Personally to me it depends on the color of the crx. Seriously

If you want to keep them black. Just take them off and spray paint the black and them clear coat them.

After you get your car back painted, reinstall them, isnt difficult.

I would take them off the car anyways if I was painting is so you get the entire colour change

Really up to you, to me it depends on teh colors and style of the car

I have a 91 CRX hf I am working on. Had it since new. I'm gonna get it repainted the original color (white).

Much of the trim is faded, so I have priced out OEM replace parts for the whole car. Something around 1000$. But this is for every external trim piece. Took me an afternoon to carefully check each peice and find the price on Majestic Honda.

that bumper paint looks really good! How is it holding up? The only problem I foresee is that the trim on the front and rear bumpers dont come off, so I guess I would HAVE to get that painted white also, and then paint them black myself.

How much taping did you do? Weren't you worried about overspray on the white paint?
