Default Big bore throttle bodies...

I was considering sending my LS throttle body out to have it bored by one of the board sponsors, but i was having a recent convo with someone who told me when you bore out LS t/b's they become very thin and can snap. Has anyone ever heard of this? How big would they have to bore it to be easy to snap? i dont want it huge, just like a 60-62mm....

dude..i just had my jdm b16 tb sent to him and bored to itr specs...and its great. You cant beat that deal....yes it looks thin but when you get it back you'll be able to tell that its not so thin that it will break...Plus turn around time was great...i sent it out and got it back in less than a week....You'll be very impressed i assure you.

On a B18A t/b the stock bore is 58mm, so the most you could bore it to would be 62mm. I would just buy a stock b16 t/b and have them bore it to 64mm since the stock bore is 60mm.

Well just to inform you also that even a b16a1 t/b is factory 58mm. therefore can only be bored to 62mm. so if you plan on going to 64mm size then you'll need a b16a2, gs-r which will bore to 64.5mm, and a itr which will bore to 68mm. All are completely safe bored sizes and i'm speaking as a very satisfied customer.

more throttle respons for sure, but it also helps if you have a port matched intake manifold, and a plenum that's the same size as your t/b.

64mm, just like the stock ITR plenum. hence why the ITR has more throttle responce than all other hondas, let alone the port matched t/b-intakem mani-head-exhaust mani. hence why they make the power they do.
