Cannot recieve Radio Stations
I have a 2002 Honda Civic and I just installed a Sony CDX-MP40 MP3/CD player. The CD's work but I can't recieve any radio stations. The seek function cannot locate any stations either. The manual says "Connect a power antenna lead (blue) or accessory power supply lead (red) to the power supply lead of a car's antenna booster." I dunno if that applies to me cause it says it's "Only when you car had built-in FM/AM antenna in the rear/side glass". I'm an idoit and I'd like some help if anyone can assist.
If you don't have a power ant. you don't need to hook up the blue lead , have you checked to see if the ant. is plugged into the Sony HU
, make sure it is plugged in all the way, if it is plugged in, then you have a problem with the Sony.
hope this helps. 94

It's in all the way
, that I made sure of. Is it possible that the car may have a problem with the antenna? Is it possibly fuse related? I dont have a power antenna.

I need to know so I can help.

The radio did work before I put the Sony in. I know the antenna is built in, but I'm not sure if it's in the rear/side glass. I had to use a wire harness when I put the sony in. I know the antenna coming from the car is plugged in firmly to the Sony Unit, but I dont know where that lead comes from.

</TD></TR></TABLE> On the wireing harness you used to plud into the oem radio harness was there a blue wire, I have never seen a Honda with an amped ant. VWs yes but not Hondas, may differant in the USA , if there is a blue wire on the adpt. harness, hook up the blue wire from the Sony to it ,it can't hurt, also,[may be a pain] but plug in the old HU, and if radio works, then for sure you have a problem with the Sony.

If you used an adaptor harness...connect the blue wire ( antenna turn
on to the radios blue power antenna lead. Your car does have an
amplified antenna....its located in the rear glass...the booster is
behind the passenger trim panel near the rear glass. Do this and you will
get recption again.

So ur telling me all I have to do is connect the blue wires, but I tried that and it still didn't work... ? Like I said I'm an idoit and I have NO experience with cars (which would have helped).

The Sony harness plugs into the Sony HU, the other [adpt.] harness plugs into the car.
The Sony harness may have 2 blue wires, one is blue, the other is blue with a white stripe on it, DO NOT CONNECT THEM TOGETHER
hope this helps. 94
