need help mounting my front speakers
well i just got my mb quart rce-213 5.25 component set, and i have a 95 integra ls, i thought it would be easy and throw in speakers and screw it on but no, the mounting is different? i have no idea how to mount these damn speakers on my door panel could someone help me?
First, they don't mount to the door panel, they mount to the speaker mounting bracket behind the door panel [ speaker grill on door panel]. The tweeters are a differant story.
Have you removed the door panel?
Have you removed the oem speaker?
Have you tryed to fit the MBQs into the speaker mounting brackets?
What is the problem? is the speaker too deep? did you remove the plastic speaker mounting bracket?
I will need more info on what has got you stuck

yes i know they moutn to the speaker mounting bracket behind the door panel, i have removed the door panel, i removed some aftermarket sony speakers, i've tried to put the 'mbq speaker in itself' without hte surrounded, with the surrounded it seems like the holes will not line up correctly with the stock bracket.. i've tried to remove that and put it on but i can't seem to figure it out, the screws dont even seem long enough
The stock speaker for a Honda is 6.5", you can also install a 5.25" speaker into a Honda useing the stock speaker mounting bracket, the only problem when useing the standerd 5.25" or 6.5" was that some of them were to deep for the oem speaker mounting bracket, I think the MBQs you have are not a standerd size and that is why they will not line up, the easy fix is to make a pr of trim rings, outside diameter the same as the oem speaker mounting bracket, the inside diameter size to fit the MBQs, you can use 1/4" mdf but the thicker the better,
That said, the best way, is to make new speaker mounting plates for the MBQs, using the oem ones as templates, use 1" mdf and cut out 2 plates, putting in mounting holes in the same place as the oem ones and cutting a hole in them to fit the MBQs, a lot more work, but worth it for SQ.
hope this helps 94

this totally fk'n sucks, crutchfield said my fronts were 5.25 and rears were 6 1/2s ..i dont know but i cut my stock mounting bracket so the speakers could fit through , but they somewhat fit through perfectly that i cannot even screw the speakers onto it..man, the mbqs come with all these brackets and stuff i dont know where they go to, the instruction totally SUCKS too
