Where would the EGR Valve be located on a 1990 Civic Hatch?

Where would the EGR Valve be located on a 1990 Civic Hatch?
I can't find it anywhere and my haynes manual refers to it, but doesn't show where it is located. Also, the car is manual, but there is no 5th gear although the shift **** indicates one, but I can't find any info on the car based on the VIN as to what model it is DX or STD.
