I was in my car listening to my cd deck for about 20 mins. and when i took the face plate the back felt kinda hot. Are they suppose to get this hot??

Yeah they put a warning in the manual about it getting hot, mine doesn't but I don't use the internal amp. Just make sure the fan has enough room and that it isn't blocked off by something.

 

IF its a HU that displays picture than it is going to get hotter than a regular HU would.

he didn't say what model alpine he jhad how do you know it has a fan?&gt;

my alpine gets pretty hot too

Thanks for the replies, and yes I do have an alpine 9835. So, i have nothing to worry about then?

 

The alpine that I had got hot enough to go into thermal protection for a couple minutes in the summer. Alpine head units get hotter then most.
