Default need some motor/tuning help. high compression...

i currently running a built gsr , itr head, mugen thin and endyne 12.5 pistons. im thinking im high 12's comp if not breaking into the 13.'s... i want to lower my compression without having to remove my pistons, im thinking about getting a cometic but i dont think that it will lower me much past 12.5 so i was thinking about gettting a turbo headgasket. but i wasnt sure if thats gonna be potentially bad/dangerous for my setup.
does anyone have any expierence with this of have any ideas on how i can lower my comp safely without sacrificing to much power...

you are correct on thinking cometic! it will slightly lower your compression without hurting your performance. i happen to have a an unused gsr one as well if you want it. its .043 thick so its not so thick that you'll lose power, but enough to keep it safe

why dont u do the math first to make sure u truely are that high of CR. i bought my JE 12.5:1 pistons 3 yrs ago. it wasnt until this last yrs offseason that i actually did the math. at stock deck height which i was at my pistons with a B16 head only were actually 11.3:1. talk about feeling ripped off. o well the car ran strong as hell on low compression. most piston manufacturers give piston CRs with .030 piston to deck height (which is stock). so its a possibility that ur car is only running upper 11.?:1.

hmm aside from doing the math i really need to just get a compression test to find out. i guess im pondering on lowering my comp so i can run safely on pump 91...

usually u can just pull a few degrees out of the timing. u can hear detonation so just listen for it and then pull some timing out.
