So there's a nice chip in the class and theres a silver of a crack in the glass...think acura (i doubt it) will replace it? i hope it doesnt expand into a gigantic crack...stupid highway construction

 

If it is small call your insurance company and they will repair it for free. A new windshield will be fairly expensive...

 

I highly doubt Acura will replace it under warranty. Sucks, same thing happened to me, only it's unrepairable, and it was an alien ghost rock because there were no cars ahead of me for at least a half-mile

 

thats exactly what happened to me...i mean there was construction but there were no cars ahead of me and the construction was like a mile down the road, i was just in the "work zone area"...maybe somene threw a rock at me

Progressive told me it would be repaired for free, no deductable, but unfortunately it's not repairable, and I have a $500 deductable

Call yer agent. Most policies have glass breakage included, but we won't know - your agent will


And remember to insist on Honda glass

 

American honda will not do a dam thing but tell you your cai caused unnecessary noise and made your windshield vibrate until it cracked. Or since your car is lowered it shook the windshield up and down until it cracked.

 

Why should Honda warranty a broken windshield?!? Should they buy me new tires every year or two as well??

"I bought this car, drove it 40,000 miles, and now the tires are bald... I WANT NEW TIRES FOR FREE!!"



That's why you have insurance. Broken windshield = rock flew up = road hazard. Call your agent.

 

Check with insurance... tell them you want OEM glass.

And try getting two windsheilds in two weeks on your two month old S2000

This is why I pay $5 extra a month for full coverage, no deductable on auto glass, if I get a chip, oh well... I get a new windshield.

 

Same **** happened to me,I was flyin' on I95 when all of a sudden BAM!
Got a chip about the size of a bibi,right in the middle of the windsheild.

I also have a scratch,in the shape of an arch,from a pebble geeting wedged between the glass and the wiper on the driver side,which is really annoying when the car is spotless except for the direction I have to face everyday

i have allstate and glass coverage so if you ever have a prob with the glass, they replace it for free...

 

Why can't they repair it? Did you try discussing with a glass repair specialist like Novus ( http://www.novusglass.com/glass-wind.html )?

 

You've had some pretty shitty luck lately. Sorry to hear it. Thje same thing happened to my Dad's RSX, I think the windshield was about 600?? Not sure... but he has Allstate and I believe they coverd it, minus the deductible of course.... Sorry to hear it.

 

Rock near rearview mount, cracked windsheild instantly. Replaced with OEM glass.
One week later, rock right in drivers view, replaced with OEM.

*sigh* $50 ded both times.
