Default Quick Question/opinion

i have found a 93 prelude si for cheap. The body is in great condion. Do you think i should get it and turbo right away running like 5-6 psi. or should i wait and get a Prelude V-tec and then turbo later on because lack of money. How much faster is a prelude with vtec? which motor be better for turbo?

Si motor(H23) is better for turbo because of lower compression and ease of tuning(no VTEC) plus torque sooner in the powerband to get you to boost. The H22 is much better for an N/A setup and also good for boost...

most people get about 220whp out of 6lbs of boost on an h23. i would swap the h22 for sure.

How many miles are on the motor? Ask if you can have a compression check done. If the motor is tired... then swap it for the H22.

The 93 Si prelude is at a very cheap price right now that is why I am asking this. Plus its at a dealer ship so i am probly going to trade in my car for it. I am just wondering if i should pass the deal up or get the car and turbo it. i think the car would definetly drop a second or more. i would hope. or if i just waited drove the car with that motor stock as could be and save for the H22a motor. How much work is it to install. I know about wiring up the vtec but how about the rest does everything basically just line up? Is there alot of buying of other parts to make it work right? I dont want to get my self into something i cant do. this wouldnt be my first time installing a motor. But i have done helped work on alot of my friends cars. so i know some.
