Im confused someone told me they dont, in a couple wks im swapping my car to a d16z6 and converting it to obd1 i heard i dont need a fuel resistor box? but then again i heard i do need one? whats the deal?

 

if you use the 88-91 injectors you need one. if you use the 92-95 obd1 injectors you dont.

 

i c how would u wire up the injectors then?, i seen alot of write ups on how to wire up mpfi but that was with obd0 systems seeing im converting the car to obd1 how would wiring up the injectors go?

 

You convert to mpfi then convert to obd1.

im converting to obd1 the same time im dong the mpfi swap, since im covnerting to obd1 whats the deal with the resistor box basicly? do i use it or what? all i have is a obd0 resistor box....do i have to get a obd1 resistorbox?(im guessing theres no such thing) all the write ups i see are to convert the engine to mpfi...is there any write up on converting the engine to mpfi/obd 1?Modified by Ba4 at 2:47 AM 7/24/2004

i got a d16z6 motor/obd1 covnersion harness ready for it, im confused about wiring up the injectors, all the writeups for mpfi's are for obd0 motors i havent seen a write up of doing a obd 1conversion teh same time while doing a mpfi conversion the write ups for mpfi really do nothing cuase arent the pin outs differnt on the p28 ecus?

 

basically you are doing a mpfi swap but leaving out the resistor box.

does your new engine have a wiring harness?

 

no it doesnt have the whole wiring harness

 

okay do the mpfi swap....less the wiring for the resistor box. you will have to consult a 92-95 civic wiring diagram for the last bit of wiring.

after thats done, you can convert to obd1...harness, dizzy, ecu, etc.

 

less the wiring?, doing the mpfi swap in a p28 ecu is gonig to be differnt isnt it arent all the plugs differnt

 

do you have an obd0 -> obd1 conversion harness?

ignore the fact that you are converting to obd1 for the time being......do the mpfi swap, but when it comes to the injector wiring consult a 92-95 civic diagram and wire the injectors in that manner. once thats done, you can plug in your conversion harness, change the dizzy and plug in your ecu

ok so wire up the car for mpfi first....but i dont have the mpfi dizzy installed so basicly hold off on that till the new engine is in...so what can i wire in the car for mpfi basicly jsut switch those pins around? and add the wires for the injectors?

 

But since the new ECU he is going to be using is made for MPFI he should be able to run wire directly to each injector. off the new ECU right?

 

wow this is to much if only there was a damn write up for doing the obd1/mpfi first

 

no.....because when going from obd0 to obd1 the pin locations are going to be off. the conversion harness will put the pins into the right place for the new ecu. thats why i am suggesting that you ignore the odb1 conversion for now.
