need help with SRS light on 02 cord
hey i got a 2002 accord sedan and i put in indiglo's a little while ago however now the damn SRS light wont turn off. I was wondering if any of you guys knew why its on and how to turn it off. (Other than just yankin the bulb out) Thanks
try reseting it first, here's how...
there is a "2-pin YELLOW" service connector located under your drivers side dash on the backside of the fuse box. remove it and have a jumper wire ready...
1. with the ignition turned to the off position jump the yellow connector.
2. turn your ignition switch to the run position (do not try to start the car).
3. your srs lite will come on for about 6 seconds then go off.
4. with in 4 seconds of the lite going off, unjump the connector.
5. in a few seconds the srs lite will come on again.
6. with in 4 seconds of the srs lite coming on again, jump the connector.
7. the srs lite will go off again.
8. with in 4 seconds unjump the connector.
9. if the srs lite flashes "twice" it's reset. if it stays on, there is a problem and must be fixed before it will reset. PM me if you have trouble. i also know how to get the code using this same method, which will lead you to the problem...if any.

i should try that, but normally you might want to see why it came on in the first place
but like i was trying to remove my dash and unplugged the wires
you should be able to just pull the battery and fix it! damm that reset crap

just removing the battery cable will not reset the srs lite...also, the srs lite can set intermittent codes like an engine ecu it you didn't know. reset it first, then see if it comes back on. if it does then there is a problem. so that "reset crap" is an accurate form of diagnosing.
removing battery cable will not reset SRS light like someone said before.
if you reset the code and it pop back out right away, it's a hardcode(check for disconnected circuit, bad srs unit, etc) if it's a soft code then it's a sensor unit problem(most likely)
