3rd gen q
the answer is probably yes... but, if i can find a jdm b20a to replace my b20a5 in my 91 2.0 si, will my stock tranny bolt up to it fine? also can i use all the old elecronics and stuff from my b20a5 if it didnt happen to come on the engine? also where can i find a jdm b20a? i highly doubt i would ever find one at a junkyard since its jdm.

the answer IS yes
check at any engine distributor you are comfortable with, they get them in just like they get any other JDM engine. you just have to be prepared to wait because sometimes they might not receive some for weeks or months.
this swap is quite common since the B21A1 has always sucked, so it's no big deal.

Yes. The tranny will bolt up with no problems. You can find a JDM b20a by just searching on google. There are alot of places that sell them.
I know that there is one on ebay right now. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...46098
Try some of these places
tigerjapanese.com
soshinusa.com
engineinstallation.com
nippon-motors.com has them sometimes
and there are a whole bunch of sites in this thread

thx for the info. i'm guessing i should expect to pay between 500 and 700 bucks for a engine shipped? also, are there any good guides on how to do a 3rd gen engine swap? thx again.
also, what sort of tools am i gunna need? would i need one of those engine stands to get the engine out? (i know the easiest way to remove/install the engine is through the bottom)
depends if you are taking out the engine the top or the bottom, and how you will be taking it apart.
i'd have to recommend you have an engine hoist handy, it would suck to be halfway through the job and realize you're going to need one, but don't have one or can't get one soon.
5-700 bucks soudns about right, people i know have paid about 900$ CDN for the engine shipped.

i'd prolly do it through the bottom since i've read its easier to do it that way. would i need anything besides a set of wrenchs, impact gun and possiblity an engine hoist?
