Car Broken into
Well, I was at Knott's berry farm yesterday chillin with some friends and I get back to my car around 10:30pm and were about to leave and go eat and Im about to unlock my car can notice my driver's lock is open so I was like wtf? And then I look inside and my Clarion head unit is gone, my glove box is open, stole all of my friends water polo stuff, stole my backpack full of dirty clothes and my hat. These guys must have been good because I called the police and he was examining the car and couldn't find any way of forced entry. I lost about 500$ worth of stuff and iono how much my friend lost, but its a crappy feeling. Just think about it...your chillin with your close friends and then you come to your car to find your crap messed with. Just wanna warn you guys that if your in the Buena Park, CA area to watch out for these bastards.
yep, alarm was the first thing I did to my next car. Did it within the first week of buying the car. The one that was stolen was completely stock and I only had it was less than 2 months.
These guys must have been good because to get my head unit out of the console, you need a special tool because without it, its locked into the console. They ripped the sucker out clean..left 2 small chips on the console where the head unit is.

yeah, if they steal stuff regularly I'm sure they carry them around with them. I mean they only need to be like 5-6" long. I've even heard of people putting screws in there aftermarket headunit like the stock ones so it's harder and takes more time to remove.
Anyways, get a quality alarm and "layer" your car security.

Your talking about those add on sirens that are like 110db loud or some thing like that. There a couple threads about them in the security forum, some interesting stories about them as well. One that I remember was really messed up. Guys steals someones radio who has these sirens install and ends up loosing hearing in one ear because of it. He gets caught and convicted and then sews the owner of the car and the shop that did the install and won $100K. Tell me that ain't messed up.

All it takes is one time of your stuff being stolen and thats it, no security is to much anymore.

actaully in a way your good luck kicked in.. ~$500 loss is not too much compared to what a lot of people loose when they get their car stolen or broken into. They also weren't careless amateur theieves that just smash your window in (windows are a pain to replace). I'm not trying to say it was a good thing it happened or anything, just saying it could have been a lot worse. I guess you know your next mod!

Did you get that Clarion installed somewhere? I use to install at this place (no mention), but I recall a couple guys that I worked with that did this regularly. They would get the customer info down for their receipt. After a few weeks or so, they would go to their house and take stuff from their car right in front of their houses. Not necessarily the stereo, but things they seen on the car they would like or could sell on street price. I only found out weeks after they got fired, but I would've called the cops on them. I hate thieves with passion. Especially car thieves.
