Installing Mugen 26mm front and rear sway bars...
ok, i just got my 26mm front and rear sway bars for my ITR
my question is this...
can i just slap these bad boyz on or do i need anything else or any tips before i do it?
can i use stock mounts/bushings and so on, im a noob to this type of thing

Me personally, I'd get beaks mounts for those cause I've seen swaybears eat a chunk out of the chassis of hatchies and Preludes. 26mm rear sway? Whoa isn't that like overkill oversteer country?
Your sways should come w/bushings, if not call King Motorsports. The stock bushing retainers will work fine. Enjoy!

Depending on the setup, the Mugen front sway can greatly increase the steering response of the car. It could be a good thing.

Yes, it could, but with the rear so easy to install and the front being a royal PITA to install, I'd just opt for the rear bar first (which I had on my car) and then decide if I needed the front.

The ITR subframe is reinforced from the factory. No problem running a 26mm rear bar. Ask Mugenmike - his 26mm rear bar has been on the car for over 100,000 miles.

ITR comes w/a 23 mm rear. It's not as huge a step as you'd think.

i think usdm is 22mm and jdm 23mm but yea like george knighton says there no need for a mount kit on an itr but gs-r ls different story.

What are you going to be doing to the car, and what have you done to it so far?
If you're after spirited street driving, then maybe just get a set of Spoon Sport springs and new shocks. This will give you a more enthusiastic feel on the street without compromising the ride too awfully much.
This assumes you're not going to decide later to start tracking the car heavily, because you'll then get into the usual routine of buying a camber kit and sway bars.
What many of us have done is put on straight-ratio springs, perhaps the Ground Control system with custom rates, and new shocks, preferably adjustable. This is a pretty cheap way to get the ITR to handle well without spending a lot of money; however, this is a track-oriented solution and you will quickly compromise the ride of the ITR if you go much beyond 500# springs.

in all honesty tho, the stock suspension is great, cant go wrong there
but like george said, some nice springs/shocks can make all the difference
i have a friend who has the koni yellows with the skunk2 sleeves and it handles quite well
another friend with the kyb agx "whatever they are called" shocks with some ground controls and that also isnt so bad
im using bilstein shocks with h&r springs, i like these because its only like a .75 inch drop and the car isnt too rough on streets, but handles real nice, i had to switch the front and rear springs to get rid of my understeer problem, but now its awesome
