I have a B18c1 w/ ITR pistons and I'm running a 2.5" setup to an ES Oval muffler. It has a 12-14" resonator as well (not sure on the exact size).

I wish I could tell you how it sounds but I havent gotten to start it up yet

Do you really think you need the resonator with the es sport?

I dont know if I really NEED it, but I definitely want it. I've seen too many cars that are just straight piping back to a muffler and it sounds like crap in the higher RPM's. Don't get me wrong, I've heard some that sound good with no resonator as well. I'm just playing it safe. I want the quietest and least-harsh tone possible. I may even consider putting an additional/bigger resonator on later if its still too loud/harsh.

A resonator helps tone down the exhaust sound. Makes it less harsh and quiets it down as well. The longer the resonator, the more it will do for the exhaust note.

without one it may become raspy in some RPMs. if anything, i think a small sized one should help.

In my slightly stock LS all motor I am running:

-DC 4-1 usdm header
-ebay hi-flow cat (resonator)
-greddy sp catback

My stock resonator rusted out before i put this exhaust on, and i couldn't tell the difference without it... but it was stock, so yea. Personally, resonators are good at keeping your exhaust from going BLAAAH-DA-DA-DA-DA real poppy like...

I ran 60mm greddy PE on my eg with no cat and a dc 4-2-1 header on a mild LS, it was extremely quiet in low rpm and city driving (also staging on the track.. when holding it at 4-5k not under load it was quiet too..) but over 4-5k at wot it would get extremely loud, but not raspy at all.. 60mm is around 2.36 inches too.. going to go with a 2.5 inch soon, looking for titanium

I ran a 60mm APEXi N1 catback for years and I recently moved to a kteller 2.5" catback w/ magnaflow 18" resonator and 14" oval muffler.

all motor set up? wat kind of all motor are you talking about in term of whp?

200? >>>2.5
250? >>>2.5-2.75
300?>>>>3.0
350?>>>3.0 or 3.0+?

resonator is a must if you got large hp....lose 1 or 2 hp for quiteness if you want...big power with no resonator is loud...well even with small power all motor too
