Electromotive Tec3
Why is it that more people don't use or talk about the Tec3?
I looked into a lot of systems & the Electromotive seems to be the best stand alone for the buck.
Any feedback on this system, good or bad, would be appreciated.

I think Electromotive is going out of bussiness. My friend has been having problems getting his TecII repaired and the Guy he calls there said they are closing down.

I can't really speak about the Tec3, but I did run the Tec2. Only only real problem was the program. It was DOS based back in the day, and was hard to find a person that new how to tune one. Luckily enough I lived in the S. Cali, and I would take mine to Myles Bautista from RevHard who was one of the only people using back in the day.
it is not true that electro is closing its doors.they are pushing the tec3 and parts for the tec2 are hard to come by, they have even had a discount for selling back the tec2 units.
the 2 was a dos system and not user friendly for most unless u really understand tuning. the 3 is very very user friendly with a question and answer session to what u have in the car and a basic start point for initial tuning maps....alot more friendly...
the tec2 unit was great but the tec3 is awesome,no sparl needed to be added and a great smooth rev and idle function, nos or just about any other outlet by rpm etc...http://racingmazda.com/miata-tek.htm
with the 2 ris was able to pull 413rwhp with 550's and stock bp miata motor...it allows for many many outlets and a great unit, from what i understand those who bash it havnt spent enough time working with it....
regards

TEC is a joke....if you want to spend more time driving your car than getting it to run decent just stay away. TEC2 TEC3 it does not matter.
I helped on a FSAE car that used TEC2 on one years car that did eventually work. The next years car was given a TEC3 system to use (aka product develop on a customer
) and it never worked worth a damn.
We must have sent the box in for replacement at least twice that I remember.

Out of buisiness. Who is he talking to? I'd like to know if that's true.
